The weatherman predicted partly cloudy skies for Thursday as well, along with possibility of thundery developments in some areas.
“There will be mist in the morning. The maximum and the minimum temperatures are expected to settle around 28 and 18 degrees Celsius, respectively,” a MeT official said.
The weather department has predicted that temperature will dip further in the coming days.
“Colder days will follow rapidly,” he warned. On Tuesday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 31.4 degrees Celsius and minimum 18.5 degrees Celsius. The active Western Disturbance brought rain and snow in the hills of north India. This further brought down temperature in Delhi and NCR.
Thanks to strong winds coming from the snow-clad mountains of Jammu and Kashmir, day temperature dropped significantly, accompanied by rain in few parts of the city. At around 5 pm the temperature reached 22 degrees Celsius at Palam in Delhi. The maximum temperature was around 26 degrees Celsius around noon.
The lowest maximum temperature for Delhi was registered on October 11, 2013 when the national Capital city witnessed a rainfall of 21.5 mm. For Safdarjung, the maximum temperature was the lowest on October 11, 2013 when the temperature dropped to 26.1 degrees Celsius when the city recorded a rainfall of 39 mm.
Usually by the end of October the temperatures in the region drop by a decent margin. According to the data available with weather portal, Skymet, the average day temperature by the end of the month comes down to settle at 30 degrees Celsius, while the minimum touches 15 degrees Celsius at times.
“Earlier the Western Disturbance which gave good amounts of precipitation in the hills had left behind a light induced system, which is currently over Rajasthan in form of a cyclonic circulation. This cyclonic circulation is likely to become more marked and cause weather changes over East Rajasthan, North Gujarat and West Madhya Pradesh,” Skymet said.
