After the Swadeshi Jagaran Manch, another ideological constituent of the Sangh Parivar is at loggerheads with theBJP-led NDA government.
The Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) has opposed the government’s move to allow Foreign Direct Investment(FDI) in retail and defence sectors. The organisation has written to both Prime Minister Narendra Modi as well as the Finance Minister Arun Jaitley in this regard.
The organisation has demanded the government to review its stand and come out with a white paper explaining the merits of FDI in the country since 1991 which in turn the BMS maintains to have been detrimental to the economy. The BMS leadership has also threatened the government with an open confrontation on streets lest a review is done. “The economic experts all across the world have rejected both capitalism and socialism/communism as viable forms of economic organisation as they both have failed to enhance the ease of living of mankind,” Deen Dayal Upadhya,” BMS general secretary Virjesh Upadhyay said. |
