The chart shows a few key benchmarks of the World Bank’s ease of doing business among South Asian countries. Nepal does better than India on almost all the yardsticks. While India’s rank is 130, Nepal’s is 99. Sri Lanka too does better than India, with a rank of 107. India has the consolation of scoring better than Pakistan and Bangladesh in spite of the latter having become a big textile and garment manufacturer and exporter.
