Some of these may feel brutal but the hard work pays off
I have become obsessed with free money challenges lately. I’m just so curious how other personal finance experts and bloggers teach money management, which is why I’ve signed up to quite a few of them in the past little while to test them out.
Since I know I’m not alone in this, I wanted to do a round-up today of some free money challenges I know you will love. And they just so happen to all be created by women. Seriously, total coincidence.
What I love about challenges like these is they are such a great way to test your knowledge and do an audit of your current financial situation. Sometimes it’s nice to hit the refresh button once in a while, you know what I mean?
Not only that, many of these free money challenges come with a community of people who are doing it alongside you. I can’t tell you how much I love my private Facebook group, so I’m excited to jump into some of the groups that come with these challenges to see what everyone else is talking about.
1. Zero to Investing Hero by Desirae Odjick
Desirae Odjick from Half Banked has created this free investing course for anyone who kind of knows that in theory, yes, they should be investing, but has no idea how to get started, or how to make sense of all the options out there. This was me to a T when I first started learning about personal finance 7 or so years ago. I sure wish this course was around back then.
When you sign up to the Zero to Investing Hero course, you’ll learn everything from why investing is so important — even if you can only contribute $20 a month — to all of the very-beginner-friendly options out there for newbie investors.
Basically, if you don’t know much about investing but you want to change that, this is a great course to get you started.

Mrs. Frugalwoods, the blogger behind Frugalwoods, created this as a 31-day challenge to do with her readers this past January, but it was so popular it’s now open for anyone to take anytime. And you want to know how popular it is? Last I checked she wrote that over 8,000 people had signed up.

8. Get Your Financial Life Right Challenge by Jessica Moorhouse
You know I couldn’t help but promote my own free money challenge. Shameless. But still, I just wanted to share my Get Your Financial Life Right Challenge in case you didn’t know I even had this floating around.
I shared it on the blog not too long ago, and already several hundred people have signed up for my 10-day email course going through the most important things you need to do to get your life and finances in order.
It’s incredible how many emails I’ve gotten thanking me for including “Get Life Insurance” and “Get a Will.” Important things that I think many people, especially millennials, forget to look into.

Bonus: 21-Day Self Worth to Net Worth Challenge
Not quite done the self-promotional concert tour here. I also recently teamed up with two personal finance bloggers, Sarah Li Cain from High Fiving Dollars and Tara Falcone from ReisUP, to create the Self Worth to Net Worth Challenge.
It’s a 21-day challenge that goes through the psychology of money for week one, strategies for managing your money in Week 2, and key things you need to know to be a savvy investor in week three.
This challenge however isn’t free, though it practically is. Basically, you pay $30 to start, and if you complete the challenge and do all of your homework, you get half of it back.
We thought this would be a cool way to keep yourself accountable with a reward at the end.
