Check out the companies making headlines after the bell Thursday:

Software company Red Hat popped on an earnings beat on its third-quarter results. The company offered mixed guidance for the fourth quarter that was mostly in line with analysts’ estimates.

Shares of FedEx were slightly higher after the company posted a 4 percent rise in its fiscal second-quarter profit, attributed to the growing popularity of online shopping.

General Mills was slightly lower after the maker of Lucky Charms cereal, Yoplait yogurt and other packaged foods said sales fell 6.1 percent in its fiscal second quarter.
