India is an SUV-hungry car market. The SUVs available in the country mostly enjoy a higher popularity than similarly priced sedans. And thanks to the 7 Upcoming SUVs we have here, the SUV market looks all set to become even more popular. All the SUVs listed here will arrive before the end of this year. Here’s a look at the 7 most awaited SUVs of India in 2018.

Tata Nexon AMT

The Tata Nexon AMT is easily among the best we’ve seen from Tata Motors till date. The Nexon has already been successful in garnering a decent response from the car market. However, the introduction of the Automated Manual Transmission on the diesel engine variant will give the Nexon a clear edge over the Maruti Vitara Brezza and the Ford EcoSport. Moreover, you can safely expect this car to cost only about Rs 50,000 higher than the similarly equipped manual transmission variant. A well-priced diesel compact SUV that offers the convenience of automatic gearshifts – that’s the Tata Nexon AMT for you!

Ford EcoSport Titanium S

While it has hardly been a few months since the launch of the EcoSport facelift, a latest batch of spy images reveal that Ford India has been busy readying a sunroof-equipped variant of its sub-4-meter compact SUV. Other than a sunroof, the upcoming Titanium S variant will get a pair of smoked headlamps, blacked-out grille, and a 6-speed gearbox. All this will surely enhance the appeal of the popular compact SUV from Ford India.

Hyundai Creta Facelift

The Hyundai Creta facelift is one car that everyone has been waiting for. The Creta facelift will have all the qualities of the current model. Moreover, it will offer fresher styling and some more features (like a sunroof). Engine options are likely to remain the same, which means even the pricing won’t see much of a difference.

Maruti Vitara Brezza Petrol

The Vitara Brezza has been enjoying segment-leading sales for a long time now. While there’s a lot going for the Brezza, the lack of a petrol engine option sticks out like a sore thumb. Things might change with the advent of the Brezza petrol later this year. Maruti is known to offer some of the most frugal petrol engine options out there. Hence, all those with a low usage can benefit by picking up a petrol-powered Brezza at a lower price than the diesel variant.

Mahindra S201

Thanks to world-class underpinnings from the Tivoli, the upcoming S201 compact SUV will become the first modern sub-4-meter compact SUV from Mahindra and Mahindra. It’s already confirmed that the S201 would come with the most powerful engines in the segment. Also, it will offer both petrol and diesel engine options. The Tivoli underpinnings, powerful engines, and availability of both petrol and diesel engines make it one of the most awaited upcoming SUVs in India in 2018.

Mahindra XUV700

The Mahindra XUV700 will be essentially a rebadged new-gen Ssangyong Rexton that will become the flagship model in M&M’s product portfolio. The Ssangyong Rexton underpinnings and the trust that comes with a Mahindra badge should make the upcoming SUV an interesting alternative to the likes of Toyota Fortuner. The new-gen Rexton was showcased at the Auto Expo 2018. However, the ‘XUV700’ brand name is yet to be confirmed. Still, the new-gen Rexton aka XUV700 is one upcoming SUV to look out for.

Honda CR-V

Honda Cars India showcased the new-gen CR-V SUV in India at the Auto Expo 2018. The new-gen SUV offers 7 seats and even offers a diesel engine option. It’s also dimensionally larger than the outgoing generation.  A 7-seater diesel-sipping SUV from the house of Honda definitely makes for one of the MOST AWAITED upcoming SUVs in India in 2018.
