Booker Software, headquartered in New York City, is announcing the acquisition of San Francisco-basedFrederick. The purchase amps up Booker’s marketing capabilities for service businesses.
Frederick is a software company with tools that help small service businesses to automatically sync their schedule with a highly targeted campaign of emails and promotions.
Booker Software develops, markets and supports cloud-based management systems for appointment-based businesses such as spas, hospitality and wellness businesses. The acquisition of Frederick expands its marketing capabilities for service businesses.
Marketing Capabilities for Service Businesses
This acquisition makes sense since both businesses supply software management for service- and appointment-based businesses. Booker has already been utilizing Frederick’s software.
“Booker has long integrated with Frederick as a software partner, so we knew first-hand that it provides a level of intelligence and effectiveness that is leaps and bounds ahead of its competition. Frederick’s intuitive, data-driven marketing gives business owners a real opportunity to reclaim the thousands of dollars lost on empty chairs and slow days,” said Josh McCarter, CEO of Booker. “This is the new face of service commerce, or as we call it “s commerce” – the ability to keep customers happy and coming back with a single, simple, smart solution that truly anticipates their every need.”
Corey Kossack, co-founder of Frederick, adds, “Joining forces with Booker allows us to boost our reach and credibility much faster than we could have done on our own. Booker is truly a powerhouse in the industry, and is aligned with our mission of helping SMBs run and grow. Together, we can offer the kind of end-to-end management and marketing platform that every services business needs to be successful.”
No price or closing date has been disclosed.
Combining Frederick with the Booker platform adds another dimension to automated marketing, being more selective with email and marketing than the one-size-fits-all promotions common to marketing software.
Frederick will maintain its identity as a brand.
Frederick was founded by Corey Kossack who is now CEO and Aaron Severs, CTO.
Booker was founded in 2007 by Ellis and Daniel Lizio-Katzen as SpaBooker. It spun off and was renamed GramercyOne. Continuing to add feature to its Spabooker platform, it reached to other service based industries. In 2012, GramercyOne changed its name to Booker Software, Inc.
