A partnership between a growing website design platform a large stock photography provider is aimed at giving small businesses better content for their websites.
It’s imperative today that any business website pop with eye-catching imagery. But those photos and graphics can sometimes cost a pretty penny.
A new deal between Wix and stock photography provider Bigstock may be part of a new trend aimed at changing all that, however. It’s a trend that puts small businesses, especially, in a position to afford on-demand high-quality professional photos and other images.
If you’re building a site with Wix, you’ll pay just $2.99 per image through Bigstock. And only Wix customers — those building a website through the design platform — will be privy to this deal. The most affordable subscription on Bigstock outside of Wix is $79 per month, according to the Bigstock website.
So the new deal could mean small business owners who have been looking for an affordable and legal means of obtaining high-quality images to add to their websites, finally have a more affordable option.
The announcement from Wix and Bigstock comes just after another site builder, Squarespace, announced a similar partnership with Getty Images.
In that deal, according to a PC Magazine report, a Getty Images search will be integrated into the newly revamped site-building platform Squarespace 7. The deal allows Squarespace customers to use Getty Images selections on their sites at $10 apiece.
The collaboration between Wix and Bigstock adds another feature for small businesses seeking to build a website on the Wix platform.
Once inside the platform, users can search among the 21 million photos, vector images, videos and illustrations available through Bigstock. Search results are displayed through the Wix interface and those results can be further refined to find the perfect image.
During the entire process, the Wix user remains within the Wix builder interface.
Company officials say they saw the need for the partnership with Bigstock when they noticed the use of images on Wix customer sites had increase exponentially in the very recent past. According to a company announcement on the Bigstock deal, use of photos on websites built through Wix has increased 150 percent in the last two years.
The company adds that good-looking images on a website are fundamental to good site design. In the release, Wix President and COO Nir Zohar adds:
“Our users need affordable, accessible and high-quality images to enrich their websites, and this partnership answers that need. The collaboration with Bigstock brings millions of professional grade images right to their fingertips, giving users yet another tool to create an online presence that looks exactly the way they want.”
